The Greek model Eirini Melissaropoulou was acquitted of charges from the Hong Kong High Court on Wednesday. The young model faced drug trafficking charges upon her arrest in the Hong Kong’s airport on 20 November 2017.
Customs officials on Friday seized 48 kilograms of cocaine that was destined to Greece. The drugs were found in a refrigerated container from Ecuador, the department said in a statement.
A large but yet unspecified quantity of cocaine was found in a luxury apartment in Varkiza, southern Athens, by the Drug Enforcement department of Attica's Security Directorate on Sunday, authorities said.
