Greek entrepreneurship can play key role in N. Macedonia’s growth, says PM Tsipras

Greek entrepreneurship could play a key role in North Macedonia‘s economic growth, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said on Thursday in Thessaloniki.

“Greek entrepreneurship has the potential to play a dominant role in North Macedonia’s economic growth, with the important and positive momentum created by the Prespes Agreement,” underlined Tsipras during a meeting at Makedonia Palace hotel with the most prominent entrepreneurs of northern Greece.

Tsipras urged the Greek entrepreneurs to grasp the opportunities created by the Prespes Agreement, stating that on its part, the government with its initiatives will formulate the necessary conditions.

The prime minister said that this meeting was being held in the context for his upcoming visit to the neighbouring country along with ministers and a business mission.

A series of bilateral agreements in many sectors will be signed during his visit to North Macedonia, while the High Cooperation Council of the two countries will convene.

Referring to the reactions for the Prespes Agreement, Tsipras said that he has assumed the responsibility “to resolve this Gordian knot” after a thirty-year impasse and noted the need of all sides in Greece to rally in the national interest.
