Spirtzis stresses need for cooperation between progressive forces in Europe and Greece

Infrastructure and Transport Minister Christos Spirtzis stressed on Thursday the need for cooperation between progressive forces in Europe and Greece against “dogmatic far-right neoliberalism,” which destroys Europe with its extreme neo-liberal policies.

Spirtzis was speaking at a conference organized by Potami MEP Miltos Kyrkos and the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats.

The subject of the conference, which was also addressed by Regional Policy Commissioner Corina Cretu, was Cohesion Policy and Trans-European Transport Networks in the next Financial Framework 2021-2027.

“It is the duty of all of us, the forces and parties of the Progressive and Democratic Arc, to our citizens, our countries and Europe, to maintain our views, our diversity and our disagreements, to fight in the European institutions, the European Parliament, the national parliaments, the government bodies and all forms of social expression and to stand against the nightmare of the far-right neoliberalism and the unbridled competition that we have experienced during the memorandum period without any substantial outcome,” Spirtzis said, noting that lately in Europe the word “consistency” dominated over the word”convergence.”
