Quick and Shoukry discuss joint efforts to address migration issue

The joint efforts of Greece and Egypt to address the migration and refugee flows and the upcoming European Union Summit with the African Union on 21 and 22 January in Brussels on the same subject were discussed on Saturday, in Cairo, in a meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister Terence Quick and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.

“My meeting with Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry was held in a very good and friendly climate,” Quick said in a statement to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA).

“With Mr Shoukry, we spoke about the forthcoming African Union summit, to be held in Brussels on 21 and 22 January, where the issues to be discussed concern the development of Africa and other issues of bilateral interest, particularly important for the excellent relations between the two countries. Two countries that contribute, together with Cyprus, to the peace and security of the region,” he stressed.
