The government will have completed the recovery procedure and the issue will have beeen radically addressed in the six-month period that the European Court of Justice has set as a deadline for the implementation of its decision on Skaramagas shipyards, Alternate Economy Minister Stergios Pitsiorlas said on Wednesday in a statement.
“The decision of the European Court of Justice on the Skaramangas Shipyards was expected and fully justifies the government’s choice to place the shipyards in a special management regime. The judgment of the Court concerns our country’s non-compliance with the 2008 state aid decision and highlights the responsibility of previous governments. The six-month deadline for its implementation is recognition of the fact that the current government is now launching recovery procedures. Procedures that will be completed in this semester in order to radically address the issue,” he said.
