Alexis Charitsis accuses New Democracy of bringing back austerity

The key challenge in the next elections will be either the return to the past in terms of political practices or the pursuit of major changes in order to avoid a new bankruptcy in the future, Interior Minister Alexis Charitsis said late on Monday at a local SYRIZA event.

Charitsis pointed out that Greece has exited the memorandum and the Greeks will be faced with important political dilemmas in the next elections (national, European elections, local administration) that will concern the country’s direction in the following years.

The minister accused New Democracy that its plan for the future is the continuation of memoranda with measures that worsen the labour market and the system of production while shrinking the social state.
