George Katrougalos believes that Greece and Russia want to move on

“I would like to believe that both sides want to leave this in the past, continue to have the traditionally good ties that the country has with Russia,” Alternate Foreign Minister George Katrougalos said in an interview on Friday.

“We can’t not react when we believe that the country’s sovereignty is being violated because we consider that good accounts make for good friends. Even more so from our friends, we expect them to comply with the rules of respect that we abide by,” said Katrougalos.

The minister added that he doesn’t expect the numbers of Russians visiting Greece to be affected as ties between the two are traditionally good at a state level and between the people.

“We expect this year to have a new rise, new record in the number of Russians visiting Greece,” he said.
