Christos Staikouras: Greece enters state of enhanced supervision

“Greece is entering a state of enhanced supervision, an exception among the countries that concluded their adjustment programmes,” main opposition New Democracy (ND) shadow Finance Minister Christos Staikouras said on Wednesday.

“Enhanced supervision, suffocating surveillance, heavy engagements and already voted pension cuts and reduction of tax-free as well as the obligation for high long-term primary surpluses constitute, in essence, a fourth memorandum,” he said.

“Citizens are aware of this and will experience its repercussions regardless of the name ‘the government of the willing’ and some EU officials may assign to it”.
