Alexis Tsipras speaks with Kyriakos Mitsotakis on FYROM name issue deal

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras spoke with main opposition New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis by phone, after meeting with the Greek president, to inform him of the agreement reached between Greece and FYROM on the name issue.

ND sources said that Mitsotakis requested of Tsipras the complete text of the agreement, as the basic outlines of the deal have become known through statements by Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias, FYROM Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and Tsipras himself, they said.

According to sources, the main opposition leader is expected to make statements later on Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, the ND leader had requested an urgent meeting with President Prokopios Pavlopoulos. Following developments, the meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday morning at 09:30.
