A Greek trade delegation headed by Alternate Foreign Minister George Katrougalos visited Ethiopia on a two-day tour to discuss economic expansion and possible business projects.
According to a statement by his office, Katrougalos met with Deputy Foreign Minister Aklilu Hailemichael and they signed an agreement for maritime cooperation, including the mutual recognition of seafarers’ certificates.
He also met separately with the culture minister, the minister responsible for the country’s constitution, the African Union’s economics commissioner and the European Investment Bank mission chief, as well as with members of the Greek and Orthodox communities in Addis Ababa.
The delegation members met with Greek business owners in Ethiopia and were briefed on the economy by Deputy Secretary General of the Addis Ababa Trade Chamber Zekarias Assefa and Alternate Commissioner of the Ethiopian Investments Commission Teka Gebreyssus.
The delegation was organised by the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Trade.
