Nikos Pappas: ‘Greece’s presence at the Mobile World Congress is very dynamic’

Greece has a very dynamic presence at the international digital communications exhibition Mobile World Congress (MWC), which is currently taking place in Barcelona, Minister for Digital Policy, Telecommunications and Media Nikos Pappas stated on Monday while visiting the Greek booth.

Pappas said that Greece has nothing to envy when compared to countries that are highly competitive in digital technologies and stressed that both the private and the public sector have decided on large-scale broadband technology investments. Specifically, he explained, 4 billion euros will be invested to that purpose by 2022.

In addition, Pappas said that Greece, like many other countries, is currently in process of trying out pilot programmes on 5G technology, which will drastically alter “the way in which we enjoy entertainment, do our transactions and use public services, which will lead to an improvement of the citizens’ lives.”
