The Prespes Agreement catalyst for the beginning of necessary political dialogue, says Tzanakopoulos
“The Agreement is a catalyst for the beginning of a necessary political dialogue, which can lead to wider convergence,” government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos said on Sunday in an interview when asked about the role of the Prespes Agreement as “ground” for an alliance of progressive forces.
Tzanakopoulos stressed the importance in this political and social dialogue to clarify the issues of the new welfare state, development policy, redistribution of income, labour market, salary levels, new production model, the role and nature of the state.
He reiterated that the government’s aim is to conclude its term. “The stability of the government is taken for granted by October 2019,” he stated.
Referring to the government’s next initiatives, he spoke of the conclusion of the Constitutional Revision and announced a series of measures to support the welfare state, the health system, the educational system, support the overdebted households and protect the first residence.
