Clergymen’s payroll not a bargaining issue, says Gavroglou

Education and Religions Minister Costas Gavroglou said that the clergymen’s payroll is not a bargaining issue and reassured that the government will safeguard their insurance, pension, salary and legislative rights.

In an interview with the Sunday newspaper RealNews, Gavroglou noted that the 10,000 hirings in the public sector, that will be held if the payroll of the clergymen changes, will cover the gaps in the sectors of health, education and other social structures and are independent from the 15,000 hiring in Education that have been announced for the period 2021-2022.
