ND’s Kikilias accuses Tsipras of using Constitutional revision for his own interests

Main opposition New Democracy (ND) shadow defence minister Vassilis Kikilias accused Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras of using Justice and the Constitution revision to serve his party’s political interests.

“This is a way of preventing the process from advancing and going in a pre-election polarisation,” he added on Thursday in an interview with Alpha TV.

Kikilias said that the Constitutional revision as Tsipras brings it is only a ‘smokescreen’. “It is what he has been doing over the last four years. He changes the agenda so that impoverished citizens forget the real problems. He has overtaxed everyone, he has signed two memoranda, he has agreed on surplus targets until 2060,” he explained.

Referring to pensions, he said that the pension cuts were only voted by SYRIZA and ANEL deputies adding that New Democracy did not vote for this measure.
