Piraeus mayor and Shipping Minister meet on OLP master plan

Piraeus mayor Yiannis Moralis met with Shipping Minister Fotis Kouvelis on Monday where they discussed the master plan of the port of Piraeus (OLP).

The mayor highlighted that he sees positively OLP’s development program in relation to his municipality’s areas, but added that he is opposed to the creation of a mall within the area.

Additionally, he stated his opposition to the height of buildings reaching 55 meters in some areas on the grounds that all dwellings should meet building rules set by the municipality.

The two also discussed offset benefits the municipality will receive as a result of the costs it will incur that are connected to the port’s operations.
