Kountoura asks Moscovici for support in including tourism in the new EU funding framework

Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura called on visiting European Commissioner for Financial Affairs Pierre Moscovici to support the Greek effort to include tourism in the new EU long-term fiscal framework that will start in 2024.

Addressing the parliament in the presence of Moscovici on Tuesday, Kountoura said, “I count on your support on placing tourism high on the agenda of all EU member-states.”

“Tourism is the driving force of the Greek economy,” Kountoura said, adding that Greece has created a very good framework in order for the private sector to benefit from the sector’s growth.
