Self-control is needed in Gaza says the Foreign Ministry

“The situation calls for self-control in order to avoid a further escalation (of violence) and to avoid there being new victims,” said the Foreign Ministry in a statement in regards to the situation in Gaza on Monday, highlighting that it sees “with abhorrence and particular concern the tragic loss of tens of human lives, including children, and the injuring of hundreds of protesters from Israeli fire in Gaza.”

“Israel is obligated to respect the right to a peaceful protest and avoid the use of disproportionate violence. On their side, Hamas and all those organizing protests in Gaza are obligated to secure the peaceful nature of these demonstrations,” highlighted the ministry.
