Holy Synod’s source: “Condemnation of threats against Nikos Kotzias are ‘self-evident’”

Sources of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece expressed their surprise on Friday when called upon by Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias to condemn a threatening letter he received, presumably over the ongoing negotiations between Athens and Skopje. The sources stressed it is “self-evident” the Holy Synod is condemning the incident.

In a tweet earlier this morning, the minister commented on a threatening letter he received on Thursday containing the message “We have three bullets for you” and called on New Democracy and the Holy Synod to condemn the threats against him “without any ifs and buts”. He noted that he has previously been the target of threats from “specific systems, newspapers and TV channels” because they don’t have any hold on him.
