Former PM Samaras says he considers PM Tsipras’ comments a “badge of honor”

Former prime minister Antonis Samaras dismissed on Friday comments by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on his role in the name dispute with the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) in 1992, saying they are “a badge of honour” for him.

“The things Mr. Tsipras is saying [about me’ is a badge of honour for me,” he told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA).

Tsipras said in his speech that Samaras “chose to build his personal political career instead of contributing in resolving the problem, as national interest required.”
