Government seeks fair price for sale of stake in DESFA, says energy minister

The government wants to secure a fair price in the tender to sell a 66 percent stake in state-controlled natural gas grid DESFA which will reflect the real dynamics of their assets, Energy Minister George Stathakis said at an event marking 10 years since the foundation of the company.

“DESFA is ready to make the big leap that will enable it to play a leading role in the shaping of Greece’s energy profile as part of the wider European energy strategy,” he said.

“A new era which, in cooperation with the new manager, will become a central player for the Southeast European region by expanding its activities and networks within the Southern Corridor and the Balkan Vertical Corridor,” he added.
