Meeting between institutions and Greek representatives underway in Athens

A meeting between the heads of the institutions’ missions in Athens and the representatives of the government started at 11.05, on Tuesday.

The two sides will discuss the schedule of their future contacts, as well as energy issues.

Both sides are optimistic that a staff level agreement can be achieved by next Saturday. According to EU sources, the aim is to approve the final agreement for the conclusion of the third programme review at the Eurogroup on January 22, provided that all prior actions have been legislated.

Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos, Labour Minister Efi Achtsioglou, Energy Minister George Stathakis, Alternate Finance Minister George Chouliarakis and deputy minister to the prime minister Dimitris Liakos participated in the meeting.
