Tsipras holds meetings with counterparts on NATO sidelines

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras held brief meetings with Dutch counterpart Mark Rutte and Canada’s Justin Trudeau on Thursday, on the sidelines of the NATO summit meeting in Brussels.

Tsipras also spoke with Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and had an opportunity to express his condolences to British Prime Minister Theresa May for the terrorist attack in Manchester.

During an earlier meeting with Albanian counterpart Edi Rama, Tsipras expresses the importance Greece places in the stability of the western Balkans and the region’s European prospects. According to government sources, he stressed that nationalist practices and rhetoric in the wider region must be overcome in favour of democratic principles and the respect for international law.
