Four simple steps that will help you wake up early

We all feel frustrated  when we have to wake up early in the morning, but there many ways to help us avoid this unpleasant feeling:

1. Try waking up just one minute earlier (every single day)

Setting your alarm earlier does not always mean you will get up earlier. If you find yourself constantly hitting the snooze button until your regular wake-up time, your body probably needs some more time to adjust. So instead of a 7 a.m. wake up right away, set your alarm one minute earlier every second day until you reached your goal. It seems difficult in the beginning but you will finally manage to reach your goal.

2. Modify Your Environment to make waking up much easier

Here are some ways that will help you manipulate your environment: a) Put your alarm clock across the room so you have to get up to turn it off and b) set your coffee on a timer so it is ready when you get up.

3. Give yourself enough time for a good night’s rest

If you are used to sleeping from 11 to 9, you cannot go to bed at 12 o’clock at night and expect that 7 AM wake-up call to be just fine. As you get up earlier and earlier, you need to go to bed earlier and earlier. The goal here is to manage waking up earlier and easier.

4. Have a good reason to wake up

Think about it. Is there something that excites you and makes you look forward on the next day? It is really important to have a purpose in order for you to wake up early. If you have to wake up to go to a job you hate or a life that does not excite you, well you will probably be unhappy with your everyday life… It is so simple!
