Researchers revealed a way to stop mosquito bites

Science, once again, is here to solve everyday problems faced by mankind, since this time it has found a solution to the mosquito bite.

If you are part of the population, who are always trying to swat a mosquito, it seems that it really works, as in this way, mosquitoes will stay away from you in the future, because they learn to avoid your scent.

The researchers, led by Jeffrey Riffell of the Department of Biology, University of Washington, who published the relevant biology journal “Current Biology,” studied female mosquitoes (Aedes aegypti) and found that when they associate the odor of a human body with an unpleasant stimulus (eg a palm that hunts them) then they learn to avoid this man.

Some people really are the “lovers” of mosquitoes, mainly because of their smell.

“Unfortunately, there is no way we know exactly what a mosquito attracts to a particular person. People are each composed of a unique blend of molecular cocktail, which combines more than 400 chemicals”, while he added, ”Once mosquitoes learned odors in an aversive manner, those odors caused aversive responses on the same order as responses to DEET, which is one of the most effective mosquito repellents.”

But now, we know that mosquitoes are avoiding people, who resort to defensive behaviors, “said researcher Chloé Lahondère, of the Virginia Tech Department of Biochemistry.

Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, besides annoying, are potentially dangerous, as they are carriers of many diseases such as Zika and Malaria, among others.
