Eurovision 2017 winner: Salvador Sobral on artificial heart, according to recent reports

The winner of Eurovision 2017 is still at the Intensive Care Unit in a Lisbon hospital, as the need to undergo a heart transplant is huge.

The doctors connected Salvador Sobral with an artificial heart as a temporary solution. According to the Portuguese press, the artificial implant came from the US and it costs €110.000.

His state of health, however, remains critical and urgently he needs an implant to keep him alive. The need to undergo a heart transplant is enormous, as we mentioned above, however the artificial heart is said to be designed to give the biological heart a rest and in some cases even regain strength, until a compatible transplant is found.
