Dying is frightening for all and in addition a new research comes to reveal that those who die, realize that they have died, since the brain continues to function even when the body does not show signs of life.
The announcement of the results of the study was made by Dr. Sam Parnia, director of critical care and resuscitation research at NYU Langone School of Medicine in New York.
Dr. Parnia and his team first observed people who had suffered a cardiac arrest and were technically dead, but soon they returned to life. Several of them said they understood what was going on around them, listening to the conversations, and seeing things even after it was announced that they were dead. All of these were finally confirmed by the doctors, who were present in each incident.
Dr Sam Parnia said: ”Technically, that’s how you get the time of death; it’s all based on the moment when the heart stops. Once that happens, blood no longer circulates to the brain, which means brain function halts almost instantaneously. There is a loss of all the reflexes of the brain, everything disappears.”
However, the evidence gathered now alters the data, demonstrating that there is an explosion of energy in the brain when someone dies.
