IMF underscores outstanding loans as major hindrance for Greece’s economic growth

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) discussed the first post-programme review on Greece on Wednesday, in order to determine progress of the economy.

The IMF mission head in Greece Peter Dolman presented the report.

According to sources related to the IMF, the organisation recognised the efforts of the country and the Greek people in particular but stressed the need to continue reforms, especially in managing outstanding bank loans. The Fund also determined that Greece is able to repay its debt to the IMF.
