Consultation opens for draft bill of Hellenic Development Bank

A draft bill setting the framework for the operation of the planned Hellenic Development Bank (HDB) was released online for public consultation on Wednesday by Deputy Premier and Economy & Development Minister Yiannis Dragasakis.

From the outset, the HDB will mobilise 5 billion euros of private and public funds via financial tools and Ministry-designed programmes, with an estimated 11-billion euro impact on the Greek economy. Further to financing the economy, the GDB will support transformations, specialisations and business models that will help the country to transition towards a new model of fair and sustainable development.

The consultation will remain open until 15:00 on March 8, 2019.

(The Hellenic Development Bank and the opportunities it offers will be the focus of a panel discussion at the 4th Delphi Economic Forum on Thursday.)
