DESFA will lower fees on infrastructure’s use

Sotiris Nikas, the chairman and CEO of National Natural Gas Transmission System Operator SA (DESFA), announced the reduction of the fees on the use of natural gas transmission infrastructure.

Such reduction will be applied from May 1, as a result of the increased profitability of DESFA, reaching 94 million euros in 2017. Part of these profits will be used to reduce fees and part to balance previous years’ sums. Said profits were caused mainly by the increase of natural gas use by industries, households and electricity production units.

Nikas presented also graphics and data from the ongoing process of upgrading the LNG terminal in Revithousa, highlighting that a tender for the sale fo 66% to a strategic investor will improve the company and be beneficial for the country.
