Tsakalotos discusses prospects of Greek economy with EP ECON group

Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos discussed on Monday the prospects of the Greek economy after the Eurogroup of June 15, during a meeting with representatives of the European Parliament’s Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (ECON), in Athens.

According to the ministry, Tsakalotos said the government believes the decision constitutes a great progress in the country’s efforts to return to the markets. He also expressed optimism for the economic growth recorded in 2017, adding it will be maintained in the coming years, as uncertainty has been lifted and investors see a positive climate.

He also noted that the government also aims at easing the pressure on middle-class citizens who were burdened during the crisis.
