Events at the Acropolis Museum

The Acropolis Museum holds special events throughout the summer to enhance your experience of visiting the museum. Free guided tours, musical interludes and important archaeological artefacts on display on a temporary basis. See what’s on this month.

 

FREE GUIDED TOUR AND GALLERY TALK OF THE ACROPOLIS MUSEUM

Complimentary* guided tours every Friday evening at 6:00pm (in English) led by an archaeologist who shares fascinating insights about the exhibits.

*The Gallery Talks are complimentary with the regular price of entry. Duration: 60 minutes

Tips: Limited to 40 visitors per session (first in best dressed). Register on the day at information desk located at the entrance of the museum

Meeting point with the archaeologist/host: glass floor, ground level.

 

JAZZ NIGHTS AT THE ACROPOLIS MUSEUM RESTAURANT

Every Friday evening from 8pm

Some of the city’s best Jazz musicians will perform at the Acropolis Museum Restaurant every Friday evening. Guests will enjoy dinner and live Jazz performances with magnificent views of the Acropolis.

The museum’s restaurant will remain open until midnight. Dinner reservations are advisable. Walk-ins welcome for drinks and desserts.

Tip: The Acropolis Museum remains open on Fridays from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m making the restaurant a perfect place for a late dinner.

Each Monday to Thursday from 1pm to 4pm, visitors to the restaurant will have the pleasure of coffee or lunch accompanied by the melodies of harpist Thodoris Matoulas performing Greek classics and works by other famous composers.

Winter (1 November – 31 March)

Mon – Thurs: 9:00am – 5:00pm (last admission: 4:30pm)

Friday: 9:00am – 10:00pm (last admission 9:30pm)

Sat & Sun: 9:00am – 8:00pm (last admission 7:30pm)

 

Summer (1 April – 31 October)

Mon: 8:00am – 4:00pm (last admission: 3:30pm)

Tue – Sun: 8:00am – 8:00pm (last admission 7:30pm)

Friday: 8:00am – 10:00pm (last admission 9:30pm)
