The Carnival of Xanthi is back for the 52th consecutive year

The Carnival of Xanthi takes place for the 52th consecutive year with a promise to offer locals and visitors lots of surprises and unique moments, full of fun and entertainment.

The festival includes various happenings, as well as acts that reveal the history and the culture of the city.

Like every year, the peak of the happenings is the Great Carnival Parade, which will take place on the 26th of February 2017.

A very old and traditional custom, the “Burning of the Tzar” (the Carnival King) will follow after the end of the Great Parade.
