Security forces occupy alternate finance minister’s office, demanding meeting

The office of Alternate Finance Minister George Chouliarakis at the General Accounting Office was occupied on Wednesday morning by representatives of the police, military and other security forces, who demanded a meeting with the minister.

The head of the Panhellenic Federation of Police Employees Grigoris Gerakarakos earlier told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) that they “will not leave here unless we see Mr Chouliarakis. The minister has an obligation to receive us and hear what we have to say.”

A rally by members of the Greek police, military and other forces outside the Old Parliament building in Athens is scheduled to take place at 17:00 on Wednesday.
