Six Turkish fighter jets flew over Kinaros island

Six Turkish fighter jets entered Athens’ FIR and flew over the small island of Kinaros in the eastern Aegean on Wednesday, without submitting a flight plan, the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) said in a statement.

According to HNDGS, two F-16 and two F-4 flew between Chios and Samos at 26,000 feet at 16:23, followed, after three minutes, by two more F-16s who flew over Kinaros at 22,000 feet.

Greek Air Force sent two pairs of F-16 from the 133rd Combat Wing in Kasteli and the 130th Combat Wing in Lemnos, which identified and intercepted the Turkish aircraft.
