Athina Onassis to attend international equestrian event in Greece this summer

Athina Onassis is expected to arrive in Athens, Greece this summer to attend the FEI Division 2 Longines Nations Cup Final. The FEI Jumping Nations Cup is the most prestigious horse-riding competition in the world. The 2019 cup final will be held in the Markopoulo Olympic Equestrian Centre on 25-28 July.

Mrs. Onassis is the only surviving descendant of the renowned shipowner and grandparent Aristotle Onassis. Her return to Greece will take place for the first time in twelve years. Mrs. Onassis had last visited Athens back in 2007 to host the Athina Onassis Horse Show. Her former husband, Alvaro De Miranda Neto participated in the 2007 event.

The Hellenic Equestrian Federation will sponsor the international horse-riding competition. The Olympic Equestrian Centre in Markopoulo is poised to successfully re-host an international competition after the Equestrian competitions were successfully held there during the Athens 2004 Summer Olympics. The event will amass the most renowned athletes in equestrian sports and will be attended by major personalities and devoted fans of equestrianism.

Mrs. Athina Onassis, who has been passionate about equestrianism since early childhood years, is expected to attend this year’s international competition, to be held in the eastern periphery of Athens. Mrs. Onassis is the sole inheritor of her grandfather’s wealth, even though the actual value of Aristotle Onassis’ fortune has not been publicly disclosed.
