Prisoners at the Korydallos prison will perform their own version of Anton Chekhov’s Ward No. 6 this weekend, as part of a theater workshop held at the jail by the National Theater.
After ten months of rehearsals, the prisoners will perform on Saturday and Sunday in the prison’s old forge that will have been turned into a stage for the occasion.
In cooperation with the Justice Ministry’s General Secretariat For Crime Policy, the National Theater has been running theater workshop at the prison for a second straight year. Last year, the prisoners performed Shakespeare’s Tempest.
