Foreign Minister Kotzias expresses optimism about the tripartite meeting

“I hope we will make some positive steps today,” Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias told journalists on Friday, shortly before meeting with his FYROM counterpart, Nikola Dimitrov, and the the UN mediator in the name dispute Matthew Nimetz.

Kotzias, Dimitrov and Nimetz arrived in the press room at the foreign ministry at 10.30 (Athens time), accompanied by Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl.

Kotzias invited Dimitrov and Nimetz, as well as his Austrian counterpart, to join hands together for the photo, after warmly welcoming the representatives of the press. Addressing Kneissl, he thanked her for hosting the meeting at the Austrian foreign ministry, since the meeting is taking place on Good Friday in Austria and the UN headquarters in Vienna are closed.

Based on the programme, the talks will be followed by a working lunch.
