Greek-FYROM power grid operators discuss strengthening cooperation

The prospect of strengthening existing electricity interconnections between Greece and FYROM was discussed at the meeting between the management of the neighbouring country’s Electricity Transmission System Operator of Macedonia (MEPSO) and that of Greek state-owned power grid operator ADMIE in Athens on Thursday.

The electricity transmission systems of the two countries are connected with two 400-kV lines, one between KYT Thessaloniki and Dubrovo and the other between KYT Melitis and Bitola in Macedonia.

The two sides also discussed issues concerning market coupling in the energy sector and development of international connections, as well as ways to deepen cooperation between the two systems.
