Archaeological sites, museums in Attica & Crete will be closed due to a strike on 2 March

Ministry of culture staff, including archaeological sites and museum guards, will go on a 24-hour strike on March 2 in Attica and on Crete, to demand solutions to chronic issues.

Staff are protesting the layoff of 20 employees in both areas, and the issue of contracts for additional staff for museums and archaeological sites.

The guards, who are participating with their own union (PEYFA), said they are striking for staff layoff issues, and financial issues related to TAPA, the Archaeological Revenues and Expropriation that handles revenues from museums, archaeological sites, and reproduction rights, among other issues.
