Turkish general consul visits Greek-Turkish Chamber of Commerce

Turkey’s new General Consul in Greece Oya Yazar paid a visit to the Greek-Turkish Chamber of Commerce (ETEE) and met the head of the chamber Panagiotis Koutsikos, according to an ETEE press release on Tuesday.

During the meeting, which was held on Monday, Koutsikos referred to the potential for cooperation between Greek and Turkish businesses, emphasising their contribution to increasing Turkish investments in Greece.

Koutsikos noted that “total Greek-Turkish trade reached 3.1 billion euros in 2016, dropping by 38 pct in comparison with 2014.” According to the chamber’s press release, he asked the consul to relay to her government the concerns of the business world regarding the need to achieve political tranquillity, “which is the number one stabilising factor for businesses.”
