Greek stocks rise, end three session losing streak

Greek stocks move higher on Friday, after a three session losing streak, on the back of gains in bank stocks.

The general index added 0.42 pct to end at 681.69 points, after touching on an intra session high of 685 points.

The large cap index ended 0.50 pct higher, while the mid cap index eased 1.35 pct. Turnover was 63.8 million euros on volume of 29 million shares.

Alpha Bank (4.16 pct), Eurobank (1.68 pct) and Lamda Development (1.35 pct) showed the biggest gains for the day. On the downside were ELPE (-0.69 pct), Titan (-0.55 pct) and Jumbo (-2.02 pct)

Among the sectoral indices, banks jumped 2.62 pct, financial services gained 1.47 pct, while tech stocks dipped 2.86 and telecommunications shed 1.75 pct.

Broadly, advancers beat decliners by 51 to 44, with another 30 issues unchanged.
