President Anastasiades meets Lebanese PM in Egypt

President Nicos Anastasiades held a bilateral meeting with Lebanese prime minister Saad Hariri on the sidelines of the EU-Arab League Summit in Sharm El Sheikh on Monday to discuss regional issues and cooperation between the two countries.

Following the meeting, Anastasiades posted on Twitter that the two leaders had a “very productive, fruitful, and constructive” discussion on a number of issues, “including ways of further advancing our bilateral relations as well as EU-Lebanon relations and how Cyprus can actively support their enhancement.”

Stability and peace in the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East were also on the agenda of the two leaders.

Present at the meeting were the government spokesman, Prodromos Prodromou, the ambassador of Cyprus to Egypt Haris Moritsis, the director of the Middle Eastern and African affairs of the Foreign Ministry ambassador Andreas Kakouris and other officials.
