Public cautioned due to increased dust levels on Thursday

Atmospheric dust levels will be increased across Cyprus, the Department of Labour Inspection reported on Thursday morning in an announcement.

The department has warned the public and vulnerable parties (children, elderly, and patients) to avoid open areas, until the dust recedes.

The announcement added that as of 8am the average levels of dust particles smaller than 10mm ranged from 51mg/m3 to 121mg/m3 across the island.

Due to the small size of the dust particles, the Labour Inspection Department, has requested employers take the appropriate measures for their employees.

The Department has also warned labourers working outside that they take the appropriate measures to protect themselves from the dust.
