The Athens Photo Festival, Greece’s major international artistic event that showcases the best in photography and contemporary visual culture, returns with a new edition, despite the adverse conditions and in accordance to the new health measures.
The festival, which kicked off on September 17 and will run through November 15, is currently on show at the Benaki Museum (Piraeus 138), presenting the works of 108 artists from 26 countries. The exhibitions spread out over two floors, in an area of 2,200 sq.m., and feature photographic works, videos, installations and interactive applications.
The Athens Photo Festival, under the artistic direction of Manolis Moresopoulos, explores critical issues of our times and attempts to bring together a range of different perspectives from emerging and established artists from all over the world, with the aim to raise awareness and foster an understanding of contemporary culture and society through photography in all its forms.
