In an interview with Cypriot newspaper “Phileleftheros”, the Israeli Ambassador to Cyprus Sami Revel, qualified as “fake news” the rumors regarding his country’s talks with Turkey, to set up an EEZ and said that Israel had signed an agreement with Cyprus in 2010, to define maritime and exclusive zones, which is also the basis for promoting cooperation in bilateral and regional projects.
“There is solidarity with Cyprus in relation to Turkey’s activities within the Cypriot EEZ. We are following Turkey’s activities with great concern”, the Israeli ambassador said.
Regarding the EasteMed pipeline and Israel’s cooperation with Cyprus and Greece, Mr. Revel stressed that the leaders of all three countries are fully committed to this project.
