K. Mitsotakis: The Commission’s proposal is not just positive for Greece but for the whole European project
The 32 billion euro package Greece will receive from the EU recovery fund, will be allocated towards the dynamic restart of the economy, based on the Commission’s proposal.
The Commission is proposing the 750 billion-euro Νext Generation EU recovery measure, to support the European economy which has been hit hard by the pandemic. Greece is one of the countries that benefit the most from the European Commission’s proposals.
Finance Minister Christos Staikouras spoke about an ambitious proposal, which covers the Greek government’s priorities emphasizing the fact that this is a flexible plan, that will address the problems that arise in the field of health, business and the employees.
What the European Commission is proposing is not just positive for Greece, but for the whole European project, said Prime Minister, K. Mitsotakis who also spoke of a huge EU step if the Commission’s proposal and the ECB’s decisions are combined with a joint debt decision.
In order for the Commission’s proposal to be implemented, it must be approved unanimously by the leaders of the EU Member States at the Summit on June 19 or at another future Summit.
