The Parliament’s interparty committee reached an agreement on Tuesday, on the right of Greeks living abroad to vote in Greek elections.
In particular, all parties except Diem25, agreed on the following points:
1. Greeks abroad shall vote from their place of residence and their vote shall be counted against the final result of the territory.
2. The seats on the State ballot paper increase from 12 to 15.
3. Voting shall take place in person at constituencies set up at consulates and embassies.
4. Greeks abroad who have been absent from the country for up to 35 years will have the right to vote and be able to certify their presence in Greece for two years.
Finally, the voter has to have a tax identification number (AFM).
