‘The people know and remember ND’s plan’, says PM Tsipras

Voters have not forgotten that main opposition New Democracy’s plan was to eliminate those things that support “the section of society that is foreign” to ND leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said in social media posts on Saturday.

“The people do not have the memory of goldfish. They know and remember that ND’s plan was to dismantle public health, dismissals in vital parts of the public sector, all those things that they consider ‘a source of waste’. In other words, the social goods that concern that section of society that is foreign to Mr. Mitsotakis,” Tsipras wrote on Twitter and Facebook.

Attached to the posts was a video of his recent speech SYRIZA’s parliamentary group on the government’s social policy, such as measures to tackle unemployment, raising the basic wage, the introduction of child benefit, the social solidarity income and the social dividend.

“Our people will soon be asked to choose whether to continue on the path that leads to economic and social restructuring with safety or the path of returning to the years of crisis, the years of the IMF and the memorandums that we have left behind us,” Tsipras added on Facebook.
