Foreign Minister Katrougalos meets with Chinese officials to promote investments
Greece and China are seriously invested in their strategic bilateral collaboration, Greek Foreign Minister George Katrougalos said from Beijing. The Greek Foreign Minister attended the Chinese capital to co-chair the 13th Joint Interministerial Committee with China on Monday and Tuesday.
Minister Katrougalos added that Greece’s efforts to exit from the crisis has opened new windows of opportunities for Chinese investors in Greece. The agenda of bilateral delegation meetings also includes the designation of a framework to speed up the procedures for the liberalisation of Greek agricultural exports to the Chinese market. Additional improvements are also examined in the shipping industry and the possibility for greater scientific cooperation between the two states.
In the sidelines of the Joint Interministerial Committee, Foreign Minister Katrougalos met with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi. Minister Katrougalos also discussed with the Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan, as well as Ning Jizhe, Vice Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission.
Foreign Mininster Katrougalos is also scheduled to participate in the formal commencement of proceedings of the annual Summit of the National People’s Congress. Within this context, the Greek Minister will meet with officials from the Communist Party of China and acquire better insight on the internal dynamics of Chinese political environment.
