Greek President Pavlopoulos: Greeks must stand united

Greek President Prokopios Pavlopoulos sent on Saturday a new message of unity from the coastal city of Kalamata, where he attended celebrations for the city’s patron saint, the Virgin Mary Ypapantis.

Pavlopoulos wished that the saint “may guide our steps on the path of unyielding unity before everything that is great and important for our people and our nation,” adding that this unity is required for Greece to “fulfill its mission as a member of the European family and of the international community, which is something that the country can and must do.”

Speaking about the new Dance Hall built in Kalamata, Pavlopoulos noted that this will henceforth be “a symbol of Kalamata […] which was and always will be a city of culture, of friendship and of peace.”
